Honeymoon Ideas for Staying Local in Long Island

Just married and ready for a romantic getaway? Try a romantic staycation instead.

There’s nothing sweeter than saying “I do” to the love of your life and then celebrating together for a cozy yet passionate honeymoon weekend.

While we normally think of honeymoons as lavish getaways to an island resort, sometimes you just don’t have the time or budget to make it happen at that time—and that’s okay!

My husband and I recently married and turned our honeymoon into a Long Island Getaway and it was so much fun.

If you’re looking for honeymoon ideas to spice up your wedding weekend each night, here are some local activities you and your boo can get into to make it one to remember.

Night 1: Couples Massages with Dinner & a Romantic Bubble Bath

Kicking off the weekend with a relaxing night dedicated to unwinding and cuddling up with each other is the perfect start to a honeymoon. My hubby and I really enjoyed our staycation at the Viana Hotel and Spa in Westbury, NY, near our home, as they offer amazing couples massage deals.

You can schedule an in-home couples massage followed by a takeout dinner at your favorite restaurant, or head to a local massage parlor with your honey before treating yourselves to something yummy nearby.

Once you’re feeling loosened up and full, you can end the night with a steamy bubble bath to chat, laugh, or do other things…😉

Night 2: Wine Vineyard Tour with Live Music and Picnic Lunch

Who doesn’t love a good wine tasting?

On night two, head out to the nearest local winery to sample your fave white and red wines as you tour the vineyard where its made. You can follow it with a cute picnic lunch as oftentimes the vineyards have live music to accompany the afternoon festivities.

If you’re in Long Island, you and your new spouse would love the wine vineyard tours found at Pindar Vineyard or Duck Walk, both about an hour from the city with Uber as your transportation. One of my favorite wines is Pinot Grigioand I loved the one I tried at the Duck Walk. All around great food, music, and scenery!

Night 3: Breakfast in Bed and a Night Out On the Town

After a beautiful weekend, it’s always fun to wake up with your favorite breakfast in bed. Get snuggly with your boo and order in some pancakes and coffee to just enjoy each other before you start your day.

And once the day rolls into the night, you can wrap up your honeymoon weekend with a night out at your favorite bar or club to listen to music, dance, and just celebrate being with the love of your life with three nights down and a lifetime to go. ❤️
