Three Business Rules that I took Away from Power Season 3 Premiere

There is more to Power that meets the eye besides the sexy hunks of bad guys that women love to date. The show gives you a deep look into the world of violence, money, crime and love. As Ghost leaves his past behind and transforms into James St. Patrick full-time, there are plenty teaching moments and valuable lessons, as he rise to the top of becoming a nightclub mogul.

Here are three business rules to learn from Power:

Rule #1: Fully Committed

I’m in, no questions asked! Loyal, trust worthy and can get the job done. Find someone like this that can rock with you no matter what. He/she is the boss when you not around. “You can be my second in command but don’t ever second guess me again. Ghost is gone!” – Tommy

The same goes for your second-in-command; you should never have to worry about questioning the loyalty of your co-pilot.

Rule #2: Love is Blind

Angela may be the best person for Ghost on paper, but is she the best one to hold him down? Ghost has a past and there is no getting away from it. If she is going to have a problem with people popping back into his life from his “not too long ago past”, she needs to pack her bags now. So, be careful who you lay down with at night. Ensure that no matter what, they have your back and best interest at heart. Angela is supportive, but she clearly is over her head dealing with Ghost. Just like Ghost needs a down ass chick; you need someone who can bring ideas and strategies to the table. Not just ask how was your day and what’s for dinner?

Rule #3 Ego be Careful

That moment will come in your path where you will have to set someone straight. Be careful how you do this. We all know that Cantos is one of those people that you keep around, but never trust. “Ghost not only fired Cantos, but instructed his employees that if they saw him at the club again to call security. He publicly embarrassed him. Cool, he needed to be taught a lesson that you can’t do what you did and not expect consequences. But again, be careful how you do this. Cantos knows way too much to just toss in the streets. I bet, that Cantos and Mr. Greg Knox will become buddy, buddies real quick. Did you all notice how Cantos never had the chance to tell Mr. James St. Patrick about the encounter?
