The holidays are a great time for businesses. On average, retail sales are set to increase 3.6% to $655 billion in November and December, and non-retail sales are set to increase 7 to 10% to $117 billion, according to the National Retail Federation. If your business isn’t taking advantage of the holiday sales spike, you’re missing out.
Here are a few actionable ways you can increase your social media engagement and turn those clicks into sales this holiday season.
Host a giveaway or sale
Determine which product or service you want to push into 2017, and start a holiday promotion highlighting it. This will encourage new clients to try your business, while you push sales of a specific service or product.
E-mail Campaigns
We can’t stress the importance of well-executed e-mail campaigns. They keep your audience informed and drive sales to already existing customers. Additionally, they allow you to track who is interacting with your business, which helps you better target your reach.

Partner Up
One of the best (and virtually free) ways to reach a new audience is to partner with other brands. You can partner through guest blogging, tweeting, and tagging others in posts or even hosting a duo giveaway.
One easy way we identify who to partner with is through using lists on Twitter. You can make lists of similar companies, top followers, or even your competitors. Then you can just go directly to the list and message or tweet at whoever you are targeting. Not only is this time-saving, but it’s effective too.
Use Trending hashtags on social media
Our last tip to reach a new audience is by using trending hashtags. This may seem obvious, but if you write a timely blog post with great content then people will notice it in the trending topics feed. And not just “any people” but people who are sales-qualified leads will notice. Trending hashtags will help direct the correct audience to your website and turn those clicks into customers.
