Creative Bugs,
You may remember a few weeks ago that I wrote a blog post titled How I Lost My Freedom, in which I shared the gooey details of my personal life that had transpired over the past year. In this post I shared how my mental freedom was tied to an apartment that I unfortunately was unable to get due to financial reasons. I was completely devastated by the news; however, I accepted the outcome and was moving forward.
My wonderful support system being the amazing human beings they are continued to push me past my comfort zone and repeatedly forced me to try other opportunities. “You’ve come too far, “don’t quit,” “you need this,” “you never quit,” “don’t lose this opportunity.” I could go on and on with the talks and encouraging words they gave me. Long story short, I decided not to give up and I am happy to write that I received the keys to my new apartment, my new life.
While there are many, many decisions to make and things to work out, I have never felt so relieved. And even though for the next few months I will probably be sleeping on the floor and eating off plastic plates, I couldn’t be more proud of myself. Even though I was knocked out for a second without hope or light in sight, in the end I got up swinging.
Through the blessings of God, timing, having a strong will, and never giving up, I did it. I am happy to see where this next chapter takes me. My mental freedom awakens me. The hardest part isn’t over, but I cannot wait to see the person I become as I embark on this new path.
So Creative Bugs, take my story as one of motivation and inspiration: go after what you want and find a way to get it. The door may not open today, but there is always tomorrow and the next day.
