DEAR THE VIRGO GIRL,
Help me…I’m so overwhelmed and frustrated with life. I’m 29, not married, no kids, no friends and I’m living in the big city of New York. I work part-time as a sales associate, but outside of that, I don’t really do much. I constantly feel like I’m being judged for my life choices or lack thereof. I’m overweight and socially awkward. I have so many goals that I want to tackle this year, fitness, new job, meet someone special, write a book, move into a better apartment. I just don’t know where to start or how to balance it all. Where do I even begin?
Advice from Missy: Life can be overwhelming especially if you don’t take time to self-assess it. Having realistic and measurable goal(s) is what helps bring clarity to your life. To begin, you need to make a list of priorities that you feel are important for you. This should include family, health, a social life, etc. because balance and consistency are key. Once you have your list, then you should create a chart with dates, detailed explanations, expectations and deadlines to help you keep track of what you are doing (or not doing). The reality is, you are at a point in your life where you want clarity and purpose and in order to do that you must (visually) create a schedule of your life so that you make time to create your dreams (not sleep on them).
