Being a mom is hard enough and adding in some work, can be tiresome. That is why I used these Mompreneur New Year’s Resolutions to move ahead. Read on and learn some of the best new year resolutions this 2022 for mompreneurs.

Prioritize and plan ahead
Becoming a mother gives you a new irrational level of perfection; at least that was the case for me. We mothers would love to take our “me time”, but there are only so many hours in a day. Between work, mom shifts, our side hustles, and other obligations, by the time we do have “time” we’re exhausted. Therefore, with that in mind, some chores may have to be put on hold. Begin by:
- Make a list of all of your most significant duties and obligations.
- Don’t take on more than you can do, and delegate the less important ones to others.
- Make errors; they’re part of the learning process. There are a lot of things that can’t be done perfectly.
-
Plan your finances
Even if you have an accountant or even your accounting department, you should not discount the need-to-know accounting fundamentals. However, all mompreneurs should have a basic understanding of accounting because it will aid them in their endeavors.
- Investigate potential future revenues, costs of operation, and assets required to meet future demands to make financial projections.
- Clear your credit card debt
- As much as possible, cut your costs (both personal and business)

Create a schedule and normalize asking for help
Being a mompreneur requires a lot of time management. Develop a weekly plan that allows you to focus on ONE thing at a time, whether it’s caring for your child or launching a business. Segmenting your business responsibilities into smaller tasks can also be beneficial. I find my child’s nap time to be a fantastic time to accomplish tasks.
Reduce your stress levels by assigning chores to others. You may not get support from your partner, parents, aunts, or best friends, but don’t be afraid to ask. You’ll have more time to attend to the crucial matters this way.
-
Prioritize health
You will harm your health and immune system if you put up with sleep deprivation, lousy eating habits, and sitting slouched in front of a computer for extended periods. Keeping a nutritious diet, frequent exercise, and adequate sleep are all essential for mompreneurs.
Make healthy choices a priority in your life, just as you would your education or business meetings. Incorporate them into your weekly routine and view them as a top priority. As a working parent, you’ll be an excellent role model for your children, and you may cope well with the mental and physical strains of the job.
Let’s be honest, this has been on the new year’s resolutions list every year. lol.
-
Take essential breaks
Working for yourself while simultaneously taking care of a young family can lead to feelings of exhaustion and stress that can last for the rest of your life. Stress not only affects your energy levels but also harms productivity. To avoid fatigue, you need to take a break. Go on a vacation, relax at a spa, and spend time with your family to retain your sense of perspective.

Think about what you can reasonably hope for. Expecting to be an overnight success as a mompreneur is unrealistic. You are encouraged to keep a positive attitude and not worry about the tiniest matters at home or work.
Remember that whatever New Year’s resolutions you set for yourself this year are there to help your family have the best year possible. Be innovative, efficient, and effective, but don’t lose sight of the importance of having fun along the way.
-
Minimize social media
Constantly scrolling through social media is a waste of time, especially as a mompreneur. You’re busy and have other things you could be doing with that time. Social media is very high for millennials, and they spend several hours a day glued to social accounts. While social media is a great resource to grow your business or even network and have connections, use it wisely. Set a daily limit for yourself; 30 minutes to 1 hour throughout the day is all you need if you’re utilizing it the right way.
-
Keep up with current affairs
It’s a good idea to stay up with the news, as it can help you start conversations. Mompreneurs can use it to make more informed decisions about their markets. Keep in mind that our world has shrunk and become more interconnected than ever before. Your business can be affected by global events.
-
Practice empathy
As defined by Merriam-Webster, empathy is “the sense that you share another person’s experiences and emotions, as well as the ability to share another person’s sentiments.” It is one of the most valuable qualities an entrepreneur can have. Customers, employees, owners, and investors benefit from businesses that communicate empathetically.

Remember the reason you are a mompreneur
Remember why you became a mompreneur in the first place, whether things are going well or bad. For the most part, we all had a vision for how we could improve our particular corner of the globe. This year, 2022, take a moment to reflect on why you started your own business in the first place.
