African American Traffic Anchor Demetria Obilor Clapbacks to her Body Shamers

Local traffic anchor with ABC affiliate WFAA in Dallas, Demetria Obilor now known as #TrafficBae, was criticized by a viewer of Channel 8 news for her outfits.

A viewer with too much time on her hands had this to say about Obilor on Facebook last week.

“Her name is Demetria Obilor & she’s a size 16/18 woman in a size 6 dress and she looks ridiculous. I’m not going to watch Channel 8 anymore.”

The post instantly went viral with a flood of support from Twitters who says, Jan Shedd is nothing but a hater and jealous of Obilor and her curves. Obilor clapbacks by saying “This is the way that I’m built. This is the way that I was born”. Gotta love a woman with beauty & brains.

Jan has since removed the post and been unavailable for comment. The person who was adamant about not watching Channel 8, has not only given the news station more viewers and support, but have shown the world how much of a judgmental-asshole she really is. Oh yeah, and I’m sure she just increased Obilor bank account, because she is demand right now.

Bye Jan!

Meghan McCain thanked Obilor for speaking out against body-shaming and that she was absolutely gorgeous. And that she is!

Chance the Rapper showed his support shared his support with his six million followers, that Jan was just mad!

Let’s go back to last year fall, when the Internet went viral over #TeacherBae Patrice Brown, a fourth grade teacher from Atlanta, who was also shamed for her curvy body.

As a curvy woman myself, when you wear dresses and even jeans there is no hiding the curves you were born with. #IwasBornLikeThis #CurvyandProud

So, thanks to women like Patrice Brown and Demetria Obilor who are using their platforms and fame to stand up against bodyshamers who feel all women should look the same!

Should you go out of your way to hide your curves if you work in a certain environment?
