When I was in college I had some of the best times of my life and they were pretty much documented for me daily—on my camcorder. Back then, we did not have camera phones, that amazing luxury that has changed the world. Nowadays, anyone can be a vlogger but it takes the right personality, editing, zest for imparting information, and exuberance to gain a true audience.
College students all over the world are launching YouTube channels and while some get an A for effort, others are actually worth the time to watch. Here is a list of a few that you should definitely check out.
Alyssa Explains It All
Alyssa Levenberg is a student at SUNY Oswego, studying Communications. She has a passion for video and currently has one million subscribers but should have more. She has a bevy of videos, giving advice on anything from being a new student, to respect, to coming back to school after summer break. She breaks it down really well so definitely add some more likes to her page!
Anne Marie Chase
Anne Marie Chase is in her last semester of college and with over 100K subscribers, she wants to share every week with them. Some videos have 500K views so Anne Marie takes what she does very seriously and it is exciting to see her succeed. She is encouraged by followers who are so happy to see how far she has come, and her bubbly personality does not hurt. I hope she vlogs her graduation because it is clear that her fans, who have become like family, want to be a part of that big day!
Some were born to be in front of the camera while others would prefer to blog rather than vlog. Here are just a few of the best college bloggers you need to follow ASAP!
Jessica Slaughter
A student at the University of Texas, Austin, her blog covers everything from getting a job to working out while in college. She even asks if she should switch her blog provider, an eternal question in the blogosphere. What is great about Jessica is that she is all about balance within her writing yet she is just a regular twenty-one-year-old student. Definitely worth a read if you’re looking to start a fashionable and visually appealing college blog.
The Swirl
The Swirl was started by friends Gabby and Hannah, who both love to blog and chitchat as they make their way through college. They post three times a week, and what I love about their blog is that the topics vary but are relevant to current student issues, my favorite being proper eating. Yes, college is about so much more but keeping up the fuel to stay alert so you can maintain the best you is the ultimate. In one piece, they discuss meal prepping, which is so important when rushing from class to the library to work and everywhere in between.
These campus vloggers and bloggers most definitely deserve recognition and attention. Their words are quite on the mark, well-thought-out, and have great depth. Plus, they are quite cheeky, something you have to be in life in order to survive. Does this make you want to start a blog anytime soon?
