It’s time to put away the swimsuits, pack up your shorts, and pull out your warm, cozy sweaters. Fall is here and it’s one of my favorite seasons. Bonfires, hot cocoa, and Halloween are a few of the reasons why I eagerly anticipate autumn, but I think most women enjoy the fall fashion that comes with the season. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year because it gives me the chance to layer like nobody’s business! That’s definitely my ultimate tip to you ladies who are constantly on the go. If you’re like me, you have more tasks than hours in the day to complete them, so I certainly can’t spend an entire night trying to figure out what I’m going to wear to work or what I should slip on just to run errands. Ladies, take charge of your time and closet with these three staple items that are must haves for the fall.
SCARVES
Scarves are everything and I consider them my best friend before any diamond. Not only do they really keep you warm, but they’re also the perfect accessory for the fall. Also, you can wear a scarf anywhere. Simply put on a simple black dress, a pair of tights, cute booties, and add a colorful scarf to brighten your day.
Let’s say you’ve had a very busy week and forgot to wash your favorite blouse, but you have an important project that you’re presenting at work the next day. No worries. You can easily wear a plain V-neck top, a cute skirt, and accessorize with a scarf. You’re instantly ready to gain everyone’s attention and successfully present your project to your team. Well done, girl.
LEATHER (OR “PLEATHER” FOR THE VEGANS)
Personally, leather screams FALL to me. I instantly feel like I have to buy something leather as soon as September comes around, whether it’s a new jacket, a pair of boots, a nice pair of gloves, or even a trendy bag.
Let’s talk about leather boots and jackets for a minute. These are your ultimate staple items and you have to add them to your closet. A nice pair of boots is the way to go when you need to throw on an outfit and head out the door quick! You can definitely dress up a bland top and denim jeans with a cute pair of boots.
Oh, and the jackets! It doesn’t matter what color you decide to buy, but please invest in a nice jacket this fall and you don’t have to purchase real leather. I certainly don’t want the animal lovers out there feeling excluded. There are many options that are just as stylish as leather for you to rock this fall. Jackets give you the leisure to bring some of your summer and spring tops into autumn. We all have that one blouse that’s extremely cute and comfortable, but we really can’t wear in the fall because it has short sleeves. Never fear, my dear. Layer a stylish jacket over that blouse and you’re back in business. You will always be dressed for success with leather in your wardrobe.
Seriously, you can never go wrong with a hat, and thank goodness they’re huge staples in fashion for the fall. Ultimately, you can wear hats all year but instead of wearing a beach hat to shade your eyes from the sun in the summer, you get to wear a warm beanie to cover your bad hair day in the fall. Personally, some mornings I just don’t feel like fighting with my hair or a lot of times I’m running late for work. I can’t thank the hat gods enough for supplying us with fedoras, turbans, caps, beanies, berets, bowler hats, boater hats, Breton caps, and the list goes on. I can’t think of an easier style tip for complementing your outfit than to top it off with a hat.
I hope these three fall style tips will help you gain a couple more hours in the day that you would typically waste trying to find the perfect outfit. There isn’t such a thing, but for me, fall is the perfect time to be creative with fashion. It’s not too hot, so you’re able to layer and piece together outfits. Also, it’s not too cold so that you have to cover your style with a huge coat to stay warm. Fall is right in the middle, so here’s your chance to find your niche, rock it, and enjoy the cooler days ahead.
