DEAR THE VIRGO GIRL,
Hi, the Virgo Girl. My name is Michelle and I love your blog/website. I really hope you all are able to provide me a different perspective on raising funding for starting my small business. I live in Philadelphia and want to open a small pet store. Nothing big and fancy like PetSmart or Petco, but a simple boutique where you can purchase food and accessories for your pets. I have a business plan and the drive but no banks will give me a loan. I tried every possible loan you can think of and nothing. I don’t have any rich friends or family members to ask. I’m trying not to be discouraged but I’m losing hope. What are some others ways I can get funding for my pet store?
Advice from Missy: Hi Michelle, nice to blog-meet you. Thank you for your support. Are you contributing any funds of your own to your business? Most investors, banks, or traditional funding routes will want to see that you are able to match or put in some of your personal assets to help reach your funding goal.
I would need to hear more about what other funding options and routes you have explored, but first thing, download our 10 ways to Get Funding for Your Business and see if this list points to any routes you haven’t tried yet.
