Morning Routine: How Mompreneur Missy Bonet Starts her Morning

Many of you have asked me how the h-e-double hockey sticks, I am able to manage it all: three children, being a fiance, having a career, running a business, freelance projects and having time to run this lovely blog for you awesome womenpreneurs. I must have a team of nanny’s, an amazing team, a chef, a housekeeper and plenty more hands in the pot; right?! Wrong!

See here is the thing about working moms; we can make anything look effortlessly. We wear a smile on our face constantly, but trust me the coffee and wine are a big factor in this. And we typically have a kick-ass morning routine to help us set the tone for a productive day.

Life gets busy, mornings are insane and the chances that you will have a normal morning is slim to none; especially with little ones depending on ya. So, the first thing is first forget having a perfect morning and accept the reality that your life is what it-is. Good news though! I am sharing my morning routine (hacks included) that you can easily use to make your day better.

6:45 am: My alarm goes off. I pray, say my morning affirmations and take me 15 minutes of selfish time before I wake up the household to get started with their day.

7:00 am: Wake up the older kids then go to the kitchen to make breakfast and pack snacks, lunches, etc. In between this time I check my social media alerts and post my affirmations on my IG stories and in my FB group

7:15 am: Feed the toddler. My eldest son is eating and my daughter who dislikes eating breakfast will get her hair done if we aren’t arguing at that time about her outfit choices and her trying to steal her brother’s hoodies (story for another time lol).

7:30 am: While everyone is putting their final touches on getting ready for the day (i.e., grabbing masks, computers, phones, etc.) I’ll listen to a Podcast or Clubhouse to get motivated and inspired to start the day.

7:45 am: The house is quiet and the music goes on. It’s me time again and I enjoy brewing my coffee and heading into the bathroom for my morning skin-care routine. During this time I read my affirmations and manifesting goals for the week that I have pinned around my bathroom (no judgment okay ladies lol).

8:00 am: My workday begins! I always start the day with reviewing my to-do list that I’ve made the night before to see what I need to accomplish by 3 pm. I always give myself a daily deadline of 3:00 pm to accomplish x-y-z. Then I check my messages and emails.

9:30-10:00 am: I prepare my breakfast and take a screen break. I try not to work longer than two hours at a time in front of the screen. During my break I’ll engage on social media, voice record content ideas or blog posts and share some of my day on IG stories.

10:30 am-12:00 pm: Back to work! I’ll spend the next couple hours tackling my hardest tasks, because my brain is fresh with coffee + food, so I am able to concrete much better! If my 90’s tunes aren’t jamming, I’ll jump into a Clubhouse room to network and/or listen to a recommended Podcast. Then it’s time for my lunch break that I use to workout for 30 minutes, prepare for my kids next day (i.e., pick out clothes, meal prep, etc.) and then do a meeting that is 15 minutes or less.

Well boss lovelies, there you have it! My morning routine keeps me balanced and productive. Find what works for you around your busy and hectic life. Use the resources and tools that you have around you. And always remember to Stay Hydrated.

  1. Love your morning schedule and mine is pretty similar actually, now that I think back to each day these past few weeks at least … However, I listen to music or anything else most often while cooking dinner or on the road driving my teenager to/from school and classes

  2. This provided me a lot of good ideas on changes I can make to my morning routine. Particularly, I think getting the harder tasks done off my to do list first is a good idea! I always delay and then by the afternoon, I really don’t want to do them

A good morning routine is so important! I love getting up before everyone else so I can have a few minutes to myself.

  4. I love that you say to forget about having a perfect morning and just accept what happens as is. This is so true because with a toddler, anything can happen. You have to go with the flow and figure out a different way. I find that the work always gets done!
