Last night BET awarded Tom Joyner with the well-deserved Humanitarian Award. Joyner, “The Hardest Working Man in Radio” is an American favorite radio personality of The Tom Joyner Show, with over eight million listeners. Joyner used his platform as a way to promote the importance of education within the African American community. In 1998, Joyner founded The Tom Joyner Foundation to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities with scholarships. And he has done just that…what can you say about a man who has used his popularity to raise over $65 million to support more than 29,000 students attending HBCUs?!
